- Neslorchestra is a New Orleans Rock & Jazz Big Band which swings with an eclectic 21st Century vibe. Bandleader and trombone wizard Rick Trolsen “employs…the great unsung musicians of New Orleans to execute his vision.”The original compositions of The Primordial Epiphany Suite reflect Trolsen’s life within the world of modern jazz, rock and funk. There is also Big Band and Bebop present. AddIng spice to blend are hints of European Folk tunes, suggestions of Zappa and a dash of Circus music.

Since his arrival in New Orleans in the 1980s, Rick Trolsen has worked as a first-call trombonist, band leader, composer, and educator. He has toured with New Orleans groups such as Bonerama, played at Music Festivals across the Americas and Europe and entertained on River Boats and Jazz Museums. Rick’s versatility and experience have earn him respect among his peers as a “One Man Jazz Festival.” The long list of notable artists that he has performed and/or recorded with includes Dr. John, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Joe Sample, The O’Jays, Slide Hampton, Al Hirt, The Dukes of Dixieland, Henry Mancini, Rosemary Clooney, Bonerama, Stan Musial, The Woody Herman Band, The Temptations, Al Grey , Aretha Franklin, Boz Scaggs, The Four Tops, Doc Severinsen, Johnny Cash, Harry Connick Jr. and Natalie Cole.
Rick’s “Primordial Fusion” compositions are the dynamic center of his contemporary jazz/rock combo Neslort . Recently he wrote and re-scored his music for the Neslorchestra, which is the latest “Power Jazz“ Big Band to stalk the New Orleans scene.
